A. Assette Presentations fully automates the manual process of preparing and generating client meeting books and sales presentations used by asset managers. The application includes a data warehouse that extracts client data from portfolio accounting, performance, attribution, and proprietary applications and is fully integrated with Microsoft PowerPoint. Assette Presentations holds an unlimited number of presentation templates which are then populated with portfolio data when needed - in just minutes.
 
 
Q2. Do I need to install and maintain Assette Presentations software on my company’s servers?
 
A. No. Assette Presentations is a fully hosted and supported application. No software needs to be installed or maintained on an asset manager’s servers.
 
 
Q3. How does Assette safeguard data it is entrusted with?
 
A. Multiple security components are used by Assette to provide effective information security. Assette uses a secure data center that is SAS 70 certified. Other safeguards include: three layers of firewalls; 24/7 intrusion detection and quarterly vulnerability scanning by VeriSign; virus scanning; business continuity planning; and extensive employee screening. Assette also utilizes encryption to protect data transferred over the internet.
 
 
Q4. How long does it take to implement Assette Presentations?
 
A. Depending on the complexity of the installation, Assette Presentations is typically implemented in 3-6 months. Key components of implementation include: identify, map, and process source data to Assette’s data warehouse; define and create presentation templates; and complete internal and acceptance testing.
 
 
Q5. What type of client service support does Assette Presentations provide?
 
A. Assette is focused on providing quality client service. Assette Presentations clients have a dedicated Client Service Associate (CSA) who is supported by a client service team. Service is available between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. EST on NYSE business days. During these hours, client service personnel will respond to your queries within 15 minutes. For critical issues that arise off-hours, Assette’s operations team is available by pager.
 
Q6. To what extent does Assette help us with developing presentation templates for our diverse client base which includes both High Net Worth and Institutional clients?
 
A. Assette can provide a range of services depending on your specific needs - from limited to full support. Full support includes information architecture and “look and feel” design services. Such services help you figure out what data to present, how it should be presented - complete with professional design. There is no limit on how many templates you create and store in Assette Presentations - create just a few or create many depending on client type and requirements.
 
 
Q7. What factors impact the cost of Assette Presentations?
 
A. Assette charges a one-time implementation fee and then an on-going monthly management fee.

The implementation fee is predicated on a number of factors including: the level of support needed to create presentation templates; the number of data sources used for your presentations; and to what degree does source data need to be “processed” or “transformed” by Assette before the data populates the data warehouse.

The monthly management fee is driven by a number of different factors including: the volume of data (number of accounts, tax lots, transactions, etc.); number of users; number of data sources; and the complexity of transformation rules used to process and present your data.

 
 
Q8. Budgets are tight within my firm. How can I justify this type of expenditure to my Executive Management?
 
A. Assette Presentations should be viewed as an investment that will make your firm significantly more efficient and scalable, thus providing more time for you to focus on developing new business and serving existing clients.

Second, Assette performs a number of data integrity checks to make sure that all data sent by source systems was completely received and processed.

Finally, Assette can execute custom data validation checks specified by you. These could include checking if performance is up/down within a certain range (for different periods), checking security prices against a 3rd party-source to ensure that market values are correct and inspecting transaction values to make sure that they are within certain ranges.

Q17. How does a user create a presentation using Assette Presentations software?
 
A. Using the latest Microsoft SmartClient technology, Assette Presentations integrates with Microsoft PowerPoint on users’ desktops. Users simply click on a button on a Web page to install the SmartClient application (a “thin” piece of software running on the PC).

Next, users select presentation templates and associate these to accounts. Further, users can customize settings for each account – for example, in one account you may want to display 6 performance periods while for another account you may want to display 8 performance periods including custom periods.

In order to generate presentations, users simply select the account and the appropriate template. The presentation template is then populated with up-to-date portfolio account data stored in Assette’s data warehouse. The presentation can then be printed for use by portfolio managers, business development executives, and client service personnel.
